How To Make The Perfect Nightclub Cocktail, The Mojito
The perfect summer cocktail made easy
Now it can be found behind the bars of all London nightclubs although the mojito originated in Cuba.
The refreshing drink is traditionally made of six ingredients; white rum or vodka, sugar, lime, sparkling water, ice and mint. It is a particular favourite in hot summer weather because of the citrus and mint flavours, but that doesn’t stop hundreds of people ordering them from their favourite London nightclubs every weekend.
For a classic mojito drink you will need:
1.5 shots of Bacardi,
2 shots soda water,
2 tea spoons of sugar,
4 mint leaves
Half a lime.
Place the lime, sugar and mint leaves in a large tumbler. Crush them and add cracked ice. Pour in the rum. Add two ice cubes and stir gently. Then pour in the soda water and add the mint.
Of course, as with all alcoholic drinks, there are several variations of the mojito, with a particular favourite being the mojito royale which includes champagne. And an excellent choice for the summer months is the apple mojito which is particularly refreshing.
