But it is important to remember that you must stay safe, because you don’t want your night ruined by the effects of excess drinking.

The best way to stay safe is to drink plenty of water. This way, your body will stay hydrated throughout the night.
Also if you drink water before you head to bed, you may even be able to take the edge off that hangover.
If you eat before you drink, you will ensure that you have lined your stomach. Bread, potato and pasta are the ideal choices as these take longer to digest and can therefore absorb more of the alcohol.
It can be tempting, but try not to mix your drinks. By mixing your drinks, you are signing up to the mother of all hangovers in the morning.
